The Dead South

Our most ambitious event yet! We're gonna rock the Majestic Theatre with boot-stompin' acoustic mayhem provided by Regina, Canada's The Dead South. Their hit, "In Hell I'll be in Good Company" has racked up over 66 million Youtube views. Their music is rooted in bluegrass and classic folk with a raw punk-tinged intensity (think drinkin', fightin', lovin' and lyin'!), Don't let the far off event date lull you into complacency. Tickets for their fall tour go on sale June 8th at 10 a.m. central. This show will sell out or I'll shave my head! Don't be one of the sad peeps with their face pressed up against the door wishing you were on the inside.

"Since 1985, Wilder and his cohorts have been cranking out their own brand of rootsy Rock and ROLL throughout the USA and the world. The band’s energy and intensity is well exemplified by the heretofore unreleased, vintage tracks contained on Powerful Stuff! A potent mixture of roots rock, Americana, blues, and British influences, the album primarily features the “original” Beatnecks: Wilder on lead vocals and guitar; Donny “The Twangler” Roberts, guitar and vocals; Denny “Cletus” Blakely, bass and vocals; and Jimmy Lester, drums."

Cash'd Out is a Johnny Cash tribute band described as "respectfully referencing the late, great Man in Black's Sun Records and early Columbia era sound, combined with the energy of the classic multi-platinum live recordings from Folsom Prison and San Quentin. The universal appeal of Johnny Cash's country/blues/gospel sound makes each Cash'd Out show a memorable event. As Bill Miller, of the offical Johnny Cash.com website puts it, "Some people are impressionists. These guys leave an impression."

Local musician Jeffrey James opens at 8:00 p.m.
Visit Jeffrey James' page: Facebook

Jeffrey just recently moved back to Madison after getting his passport inked all over Europe on his first international tour with stops in Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, St. Polten and Ljubljana (did i spell that right??). We are going to catch him fresh out of a recording studio in Breckinridge, CO where's he's laying down tracks for a new album. He's a perfect fit for a Moors and McCumber show.

Moors and McCumber sold out a full house at our last event and completely blew our minds! We are SO grateful to welcome them back for another show!

"Moors and McCumber create that rare chemistry that happens when two gifted singer- songwriters and multi-instrumentalists perfectly complement each other’s strengths, a modern day version of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young."
